Patient Representative (Full-Time)

Eastern Iowa Health Center is seeking a full-time patient representative to work 40 hours per week. This position will work at our Family Medicine and Pediatrics clinic located at 1201 3rd Avenue SE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Shifts will be rotating, Monday – Friday from 7:30 AM to 7:30 pm; some Saturday shifts required.

Job Requirements

This position is responsible for efficient and accurate scheduling, reception, copay collection and other office duties. The Patient Representative obtains all necessary demographic information from the patient, including: photo ID, insurance card(s) and additional necessary paperwork. This position is also responsible for qualifying patients for the sliding fee scale and providing insurance applications.

Eastern Iowa Health Center is seeking a full-time CMA for our Pediatrics Department. This position are full-time, hours include Monday (8 am to 4 pm), Wednesday (8 am – 7 pm), and rotating shifts on Friday (8 am – 5 pm) and Saturday (9 am – 1 pm).

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of Medical Assistant program at an accredited institution
  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Certification (BLS)
  • Computer Literacy: able to perform basic computer functions, including Electronic Medical Record and Microsoft Office applications

Eastern Iowa Health Center is seeking a full-time Lead Registered Nurse (RN) for family medicine and pediatrics. The Lead Registered Nurse (RN) will collaborate with Clinic Manager and Assistant Clinic Manager to oversee the orientation and training of new staff. This position will also be responsible for the daily supervision of EIHC/EIWHC clinic staff (including but not limited to nursing, CMA, lab, and patient services).

Required Qualifications

  • A current RN license recognized by the State of Iowa
  • Experience in family medicine preferred
  • Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers Certification (BLS)

Accountant (Full-Time)

Accountant (Full-Time)

Eastern Iowa Health Center is seeking an Accountant. The Accountant position is responsible for daily accounting operations of EIHC and its affiliates/subsidiaries, to include the production of monthly financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

A strong knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles is required, as well as, a desire to learn concepts specific to a federally qualified healthcare organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs tasks necessary to produce accurate monthly financial statements including, but not limited to the following; entering accounts payable, reconciliation of bank statements, completing journal entries, expense reclassifications, and general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Ensure Accounts Payable are paid timely and research vendor inquiries
  • Ensure payroll data is accurate including accruals and journal entry completion
  • Conducts analysis of actual results to budget to identify inaccuracies in recognition of revenues and expenses 
  • Assists in providing information for annual external audits and government filings
  • Review corporate credit card expense reports and prepare monthly journal entry
  • Maintain the fixed asset records
  • Review and prepare weekly cash deposits and ensure controls are appropriate
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Develop and maintain written procedures for accounting processes and procedures 
  • Works with Billing department to collect and enter revenue, contractual adjustments, bad debts, and patient encounter data
  • Performs other duties, functions and special projects as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent business experience.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with 1+ years of accounting and/or audit experience.
