Eastern Iowa Health Center is meeting this need—but demand continues to grow.

The Need

More Children Need Care Than Ever Before

• 22,903 children in Linn County rely on HAWK-I or Medicaid.
• EIHC cared for 7,641 pediatric patients in 2024.
• That’s more than one-third of all Medicaid-eligible children in Linn County.
• Pediatric patient growth increased 30% from 2023 to 2024.
• Demand continues to outpace our current capacity.

With your help, the 2026 Pediatrics Expansion will:

✔ Increase pediatric providers from 2.5 to 5 full-time pediatricians

✔ Expand exam rooms from 7 to 15

✔ Nearly double the number of children we can serve each year

✔ Improve access for families facing transportation challenges by offering medical care and pharmacy services in one convenient location

✔ Increase annual pediatric visits from 8,649 to an estimated 16,617
