Annual Pap smears are a vital part of women’s health, as they help detect abnormal cell changes in the cervix that could lead to cervical cancer. Early detection through regular screenings allows for timely intervention, significantly reducing the risk of cancer development. Additionally, Pap smears can identify infections, inflammation, or other conditions, ensuring overall reproductive health. Regular screenings, typically starting at age 21, can save lives by catching potential issues before they become serious.
