Care for Yourself is a program that provides free and/or affordable cancer screenings to Iowans. These services may include free or affordable breast cancer screenings and cervical cancer screenings.
The program is available for women between 21 and 64 years of age. Income requirements determine eligibility; however, we can provide resources for those that are not able to participate in the program.
Care for Yourself is a nationally funded program through the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention and provides access to a FREE mammogram and pap test for qualified individuals.
Many women skip their annual exam because they cannot afford it or lack health insurance. The goal of the Care for Yourself program is to help alleviate those financial burdens and get women the life-saving breast and cervical cancer screenings they need.
Care for Yourself offers free or affordable breast cancer screenings (clinical breast exams and mammograms) and cervical cancer screenings such as PAP and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) testing.
If you do not have health insurance and make a monthly income of $2,832 or less (add $983 per additional household member) you may receive free testing. Our team is here to discuss your options.
If you have limited coverage through your insurance, we can help you determine whether you would be eligible for free screenings.
If your insurance does not cover testing and you do not meet the eligibility requirements, our team is here as a resource to help you determine other programs or services you could use.
