Your exam includes an eyeglass prescription, glaucoma screening, retinal photography, cataract evaluation and other eye health checks—at no additional charge. You’ll also connect with an eye doctor by real-time HD video to review your eye health and get answers to your questions.

At Eastern Iowa Health Center, we believe everyone deserves access to quality optical care. We accept Medicaid, Medicare, and many private insurance plans to help make care affordable for individuals and families.
For patients who are uninsured or underinsured, our Sliding Fee Discount Program may help reduce the cost of services based on household income and family size. Our team is happy to answer questions, review eligibility, and help you complete the application process.

Learn About the Sliding Fee Discount Program
EIHC’s Sliding Fee Discount Program helps uninsured or underinsured patients reduce the cost of medical, dental, behavioral health, optometry, and pharmacy services based on income and family size. Proof of income is required, and discounts are valid for one year.
Due to high demand, we ask that all patients schedule their appointment online or call our representatives. This helps ensure our doctors and technicians have ample time to focus on your eye health.
Tele-optometry uses technology to connect you with a licensed optometrist during your eye exam.
Your eye health testing is completed at Eastern Iowa Health Center. An optometrist then reviews your results and joins you by secure, real-time video to discuss your eye health, answer your questions and provide your eyeglass prescription.
You’ll still have dedicated one-on-one time with your eye doctor—just like an in-person visit. Tele-optometry allows eye doctors to care for patients at multiple locations, helping make quality eye care more accessible.
At this time, we offer eyeglass services only. Contact lenses and fittings may be added in the future.
