Eastern Iowa Health Center Selects Joe Lock
as New Chief Executive Officer
Cedar Rapids, Iowa - Eastern Iowa Health Center (EIHC), a comprehensive primary health care service provider in Eastern Iowa, announced today that it has chosen Joe Lock as the organization’s new Chief Executive Officer. Previously, Lock was the Executive Director of Affordable Housing Network, Inc. and also served as Administrative Officer for Four Oaks.
EIHC, formerly Linn Community Care, selected Lock after a thorough planning and comprehensive search process. Ro Foege, who has been serving as EIHC’s interim CEO for the past several months, said Lock will be a great fit with EIHC’s role and impact within the community. “Joe Lock is a seasoned executive with more than a quarter century of broad, progressive experience, including his service as a not-for-profit executive for the past 14 years,” said Foege. “EIHC’s mission of patient-centered, comprehensive and primary and preventative quality care for some of our most underserved and vulnerable communities will be well served by Lock’s vision and leadership.”
Lock said, “It is a privilege and an honor to be chosen. I look forward to working with such a committed staff of professionals in service to the families and individuals in eastern Iowa that need EIHC’s care.”
Lock’s experience spans a variety of industries, including marketing and creative endeavors internationally in the manufacturing/engineering industry, nationally for a steel company, and regionally for a Fortune 150 telecommunications corporation in the for-profit sector. Lock has also served as an adjunct professor at two colleges, and is a graduate of Leadership for Five Seasons and Leadership Iowa.
Lock earned his bachelor’s degree in Missouri and his master’s degree in Kansas, where he graduated with a 4.0 GPA and earned the Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award. He has also published numerous academic journal manuscripts, as well as articles in trade journals and the popular press. Joe devotes his spare time working with other nonprofits and is actively involved with several boards of directors, including serving as President of the Cedar Rapids Public Library Board of Trustees. Lock’s family includes his wife, Cherri, and his sons Bradley (20) and Richard (12).
